The study gives a fascinating insight into the history of Transylvania in a changing world through church chronicles (“historia domus”) and other previously unpublished sources, pointing to the local effects of the events of the revolution of 1918-19, the clashes between Hungarian and Romanian ideas regarding the future of Transylvania, the chain of military events, the battles of the Székely Division, and the degradation process of the social structure of of the Transylvanian Hungarian clerical class during the ”shift of empires”.
